HONFLEUR,
on the south side of the Seine estuary, has always been a magnet for artists. Monet, in fact, invented Impressionism here. with 'Impression: Sunrise'.Other artists have gone for the quaysides seen across the water. Boudin even contrived to be born here.
So, not wishing to compete with these giants, I chose to draw the restaurant where my younger daughter, then aged two, had her first taste of seafood, filled the tray of her high chair with cockles and winkles, and loved every morsel.
